Q: What is the National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship?

A: The LAF recently joined forces with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to lead a public health effort to address the issues faced by the growing number of cancer survivors. Our joint plan, A National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship: Advancing Public Health Strategies, charts a course for the public health community to more effectively and comprehensively address cancer survivorship with the goal of improving the quality of life for survivors. Q: What type of community programs does the LAF fund?

A: The LAF offers financial support and practical assistance to nonprofit organizations in support of community-centered initiatives that help people with cancer live strong. The LAF seeks to develop and support innovative projects that promote the optimal physical, psychological, and social recovery and care of people living with cancer and their loved ones. The LAF does not currently award these grants outside the United States.
